Our story

Built for the people who live here.

Thankot sits at the western edge of the Kathmandu Valley, where the highway begins its climb. For years, anything beyond a basic filling meant a journey into the city — an hour each way, a day off work, and a queue at the end of it.

Sanjivani Dental Clinic exists so that journey is no longer necessary. Digital X-rays, root canal treatment, crowns, braces, extractions and implants are all done here in Thankot, by the same team, in a clinic run to the standards you would expect from a much larger hospital.

What we are not is a production line. Appointments are long enough to explain things properly. Nervous patients get extra time rather than a lecture. Children get a first visit where nothing happens except counting teeth and choosing a sticker.

If a tooth can be saved, we will tell you how. If it cannot, we will tell you that too — and we will not charge you for finding out.

Sterilisation & safety

What happens to an instrument between two patients.

Six steps, every time, with no shortcuts on a busy day. You are welcome to ask to see any of them.

  1. STEP 01

    Scrub & rinse

Every used instrument is cleaned of debris immediately after the appointment, before anything is allowed to dry on it.

  2. STEP 02

    Ultrasonic bath

An ultrasonic cycle lifts what hand-scrubbing cannot reach, including the inside of hinged instruments.

  3. STEP 03

    Pouch & seal

Instruments are sealed in indicator pouches that change colour only after a completed sterilisation cycle.

  4. STEP 04

    Autoclave

A full pressurised steam cycle. Pouches stay sealed until they are opened in front of you at the start of your appointment.

  5. STEP 05

    Single-use, discarded

Needles, gloves, suction tips, bibs and saliva ejectors are used once and dropped straight into clinical waste.

  6. STEP 06

    Surfaces between patients

The chair, light handles, tray and worktop are disinfected between every patient, not at the end of the day.
